Disneyland

Wednesday, May 12th

The morning started very early today because Daniel woke us up @ 5:30am telling me that it was time to get up and eat noodles. We ate a buffet breakfast at Chef Mickeys at our hotel. Daniel did get to eat noodles and I had little Mickey Mouse waffles and pan fried won tons. After breakfast we walked around the gardens of our hotel that included a pool, outdoor movie theater, and a playground all set to a beautiful backdrop of mountains and water.

We wanted to get to Disney early so we took a shuttle around 9:30am (the park opened at 10:30) and stopped to look at the large water fountain of a whale and Mickey Mouse. They let us into the park around 10am and we were able to go into the little shops on Main Street until the attractions opened. Daniel fell in love with the Buzz Light year toys. We told him that he could pick out one special toy at the end of the day to take home. All day he was ready to go and pick out the Buzz Light year and Woody action figure set.

The second ride we went on was the Buzz Light year ride and it was amazing! We were greeted by a larger than life Buzz Light year that is animated. He gave us the instructions of our mission. Then we hopped a ride onto one of his spaceships where you get to shoot lazers at targets that help to eradicate the evil villain. It was so much fun. About half way through I realized that it was keeping score and I was beating Brian. Daniel on the other hand was scared and kept his eyes covered during the entire ride! When the ride ended it conveniently dropped us off into a souvenir shop. After we dragged Daniel out of the shop we saw Buzz Light year! We had to meet him so we got into a line and waited for our turn. Buzz was very cool and even though Daniel was a little intimidated by him, he did give him a high five. Later in the day Daniel said that the Buzz Light year ride was his favorite and it was scary. I asked if he wanted to ride it again and
he said "no, it's too scary"!

The entire day was a lot of fun. We drove a car, saw a parade ate a bite of a horrible cheeseburger, threw it away and rode the "It's a Small World" ride. It is a much smaller park then the US parks but fun for a one day activity.

On the way back to our hotel, Daniel got to pick out his Buzz Light year and Woody action figure set. He was so happy and kept saying "thank you Mama and Dad". I just hope that we don't end up leaving them somewhere. Instead of taking the shuttle back to the hotel we walked. It was a little further than we had anticipated but it was lovely. The weather reminded me of Houston, very humid! Daniel fell asleep in his stroller before we made it back to the hotel. I carried him in and he slept until 1 or 2am. By then we were exhausted and I couldn't stay awake so I turned on the tv and he entertained himself. I would wake up from time to time to check on him and go right back to sleep. I asked him what he was doing while Mama was sleeping and he said he watched TV and had fun. (Send in your Mother of the Year nominations for me;) I hope we can get on the same schedule soon.

We are heading to Beijing on Thursday, May 13th. Yeah...another plane ride.
